Recordemos que<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>peque\u00f1as cantidades de elementos de aleaci\u00f3n, modifican considerablemente las propiedades mec\u00e1nicas del acero<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 es mas duro el acero que el hierro?<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p>Los \u00e1tomos de carbono del acero forman un compuesto con 3 \u00e1tomos de hierro, formando el carburo de hierro o<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/laboratoriodeforja.com\/cementita\">CEMENTITA<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/a>que es el componente mas duro de los aceros al carbono (su dureza es mayor a 68 HRC). Podr\u00edamos decir que los componentes principales del acero son el hierro en forma de<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/laboratoriodeforja.com\/ferrita2\">FERRITA<\/a>\u00a0(Fe) y la<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/laboratoriodeforja.com\/cementita\/\">CEMENTITA<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>(Fe3C).<\/p>\n<blockquote><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Cuanto m\u00e1s<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/laboratoriodeforja.com\/cementita\/\">CEMENTITA<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>(dura y fr\u00e1gil), y menos<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/laboratoriodeforja.com\/ferrita2\">FERRITA<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>(blanda y d\u00factil), mas dur\u00f3 ser\u00e1 mi acero, pero tendr\u00e1 menor tenacidad (capacidad del acero de absorber energ\u00eda y deformarse antes de romperse).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>El acero, adem\u00e1s del carbono tiene otros elementos de aleaci\u00f3n como el SILICIO, MANGANESO, f\u00f3sforo y azufre (estos dos \u00faltimos como impurezas).<\/p>\n<p>El carbono disminuye el punto de fusi\u00f3n del acero. Es muy importante tener en cuenta la temperatura a la que se forja cada acero, la m\u00e1xima y la m\u00ednima. La temperatura m\u00e1xima para evitar sobrecalentar el acero y en ning\u00fan caso llegar a quemarlo, ya que perder\u00edamos propiedades irrecuperables, y la temperatura m\u00ednima con el fin de evitar microgrietas debido a su baja plasticidad y a la fragilidad de los carburos.
